This Is The Place Heritage Park has a number of additional monuments and sculptures remembering our historic pioneer and western heritage.

National Pony Express Monument
A magnificent equestrian sculpture honoring the courageous spirit of the Pony Express. Originally sculpted by Avard T. Fairbanks, this larger-than-life sculpture was recreated by his sons with the help of sculptor Robert Shure.



Journey's End Monument
This moving sculpture depicts a handcart pioneer family kneeling in grateful prayer at the end of their journey. Located at the west end of the Park's pedestrian plaza, the monument was commissioned and donated by L.D. and Mary Bowerman, and sculpted by Stan Watts.


Miracle of the Seagulls Monument
A striking sculpture expressing the elation and gratitude of the Utah pioneers when the seagulls saved their crops from ravenous crickets. This monument is the first on the Park's "Statuary Walk." It was sculpted by Jonathan Bronson, and donated by Kenneth O. Melby and Robert L. Rice.


Angels Are Near Us Monument
Commissioned and donated by the Sons of the Utah Pioneers, this monument is an enormous boulder from the original Salt Lake temple quarry and features bronze plaques that recognize the participants of the 1997 sesquicentennial re-enactment of the original pioneer trek of 1847.



Eagle Gate
Scaled reproduction of the original Eagle Gate located an downtown Salt Lake City.


This Is The Place Monument
This obelisque is the original monument placed to commemorate Brigham Young's famous words "This is the right place." This small monument is located up the hill from the large existing monument by Mahonri Young.
