(Pioneer Craft Cabin)
Kays Creek (now Kaysville), Davis County, 1856
Relocated in 1979
After acting as a bodyguard for the Church’s prophet, Joseph Smith and serving in the “Company E” of the Mormon Battalion, Levi and Harriet H. Roberts moved their family to Utah and settled in Kay’s Creek. Levi built this home near a stream where willows grew so he could continue his trade of basket weaving, which he practiced in England before immigrating to the United States. This two-room log home was the family’s second dwelling. Because it was so well built, it required no dismantling before moving it to the Park, unlike many of the other buildings.
