WILLIAM ATKIN HOME

Atkinville, Washington County, 1877
Built in 2001

British convert, William Atkin built this home after he had been called to help construct the LDS Temple in St. George. It was located in Atkinville, a one-family community, about six miles south of St. George, Utah. Atkin grew an orchard and created a large pond that was stocked with fish. Latter-day Saint Church leader Wilford Woodruff visited the Atkin home many times.
