Train Day

Come celebrate the trains at The Park and the 149th anniversary of the joining of the first Transcontinental Railroad across the United States and the driving of the golden spike!

 

TRAIN DAY ACTIVITIES

In addition to all the daily fun, on Train Day guests will enjoy these additional activities:

See the model train displays! 
Smoot Hall:  Wasatch N Scalers - from “The Best N-Scale Model Train Club in Utah!”
Visitor Center upper level:  Model train railroad empire!

Firing of the cannon:  Miller Park - 11:00, 2:00 4:00, and 6:00

Reenactment of the Driving Of the Golden Spike:  Intersection of Main and Brigham Streets - 12:00, 3:00, 5:00, and 7:00

The Great Train Race: North Side Of Miller Park - 1:00 Children will “race the train” in a foot race across Miller Park. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners.  

Craft of the Day:  Make a Train Conductors hat at the Deseret Hospital
