Heber East Ward School

A schoolhouse like this would have been found in Heber City, UT, where public buildings were in short supply. The schoolhouse was used as a courthouse, townhall, and church building, depending on the need. Schoolteachers were also frequently needed and teachers would often travel from town to town seeking work.

Did you know? The flag in the school is a copy of the Great Flag of Deseret, dating to 1851. The proposal for the State of Deseret was denied by the U.S. Congress, and the much smaller Territory of Utah was established instead.
