Missy Wilson Larsen
CEO - This Is The Place Heritage Park
Chair - This Is The Place Foundation Board of Trustees
Missy Wilson Larsen serves as the Chief Executive Officer of This Is The Place Heritage Park and Chair of the Board of Trustees of This Is The Place Foundation, where she leads a renewed vision to honor Utah’s history while strengthening the Park’s role as a premier cultural, educational, and community destination. Appointed in early 2026, Missy is dedicated to ensuring every visitor has the opportunity to "Awaken the Pioneer Within." Under her leadership, the Park has moved beyond its identity as a historical monument to become a vibrant gathering place.
With more than 35 years of experience as a collaborative leader, Missy has built a reputation for connecting people, resources, and ideas to solve complex challenges. Her diverse professional background spans the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, including roles as Press Secretary for a U.S. Congressman, Chief of Staff to former Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, and Chief Impact Officer for doTERRA International. As the founder of multiple successful businesses and nonprofit organizations, she is known for her unique ability to unite diverse partners to advance mission-driven work and create meaningful global impact.
At the heart of Missy’s vision is the belief that the pioneer spirit—the drive to face the unknown with conviction and stewardship—has the power to uplift everyone. She oversees the integration of more than 400 acres of historically significant property, focusing on the pivotal era from before the 1847 arrival in the Salt Lake Valley to Utah Statehood in 1896. By fostering a deep connection to the past through immersive experiences, Missy envisions the Park as a sanctuary for Utah’s founding values, where the universal pioneer journey of facing the unknown with resilience, faith, and sacrifice empowers and uplifts all.
