Horseback trail rides and wedding venues await at This Is The Place Heritage Park

Just minutes from downtown Salt Lake City, This Is The Place Heritage Park is offering a unique way to step back in time—on horseback.

The park’s guided horseback trail rides give guests the chance to experience Utah history in a fun, immersive, and memorable way. Recently on Fresh Living, Lucy and James shared how these rides are designed for both individuals and groups ages 8 and up, making them a great option for families, friends, and visitors alike.

During the ride, guests travel through the park’s Historic Heritage Village and along surrounding trails, soaking in scenic views of the Salt Lake Valley while learning more about the area’s rich past. It’s an experience that blends outdoor adventure with storytelling and history.

Trail rides are currently offered Monday through Saturday at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. The park is also expanding its offerings, with special women’s rides and teen rides being added for the upcoming season.

The park is home to 11 unique venues that can be rented for private events, including weddings, reunions, and corporate gatherings. Bookings for 2026 are now open, making it a perfect time to start planning ahead. In addition, the park offers a variety of youth programs and seasonal events throughout the year.

The summer season kicks off in early April, bringing back popular events like the Baby Animal Celebration, a family favorite. For those looking to make the most of everything the park has to offer, Annual Passes allow families to visit the Heritage Village 360 days a year, along with access to bonus event days.
