Levi Roberts Cabin

  • Built in Kaysville, Utah 1865
  • Relocated in 1980

English immigrant Levi Roberts was a bodyguard for the first LDS Church leader Joseph Smith and later served in the Mormon Battalion. He and his wife Harriet moved their family to Utah and settled in Kaysville. Though the 1870 census states his profession as farmer, family history holds that Levi built this home near Kay's Creek where willows grew so he could continue his trade as a basket weaver. This two-room log cabin was the family's second home. It was so well built, due to the dovetail hinges, that it required no dismantling before moving it to This Is The Place Heritage Park.
